On 26 September 2022, we organised a symposium at Future City Foundation with our project partners and members of the advisory board. During this event we discussed our insights into
- how to incorporate ethical considerations into smart city developments A
- how to make constructive use of smart city controversies
- how to apply design-based methods and tools to explore responsible smart city futures
We presented the outcomes and insights of our project, including our digital ‘Future Frictions’ developed to reflect on and discuss controversial smart city futures, and playbook with methods and techniques to foster ethical reflection on the impacts of technology.
We had an interactive and inspiring conversation not only to present our results, but also to identify with you ways to disseminate and apply them to practice in the years to come.
